So, many of you may have heard already (by the super crazy CNN people),that we`ve got a hurricane headed right for us and we are all going to die.
Well, it`s true that it is headed right for us, but we are just letting everyone know that we(being all volunteers)are on standfast(whatever exactly that means),safe and waiting for the worst of it to hit us sometime tonight or early tomorrow.
Out town doesn't seem very concerned about it. For as much as Hondurans love to talk about the weather, you'd think there would be more talk of this thing. But, really, it's just business as usual in Las Vegas. Main concerns are for our aldeas. They are located quite a ways up the mountain and in the past have been prone to mud slides.
No one is attempting to protect their houses from the elements, but, I guess there's not a lot you can do to protect a big piece of tin as a roof. The rains are supposed to hit us this afternoon and the eye is to pass over us tonight. We are ready and safe, waiting with candles for when the power goes out. We will let you know how it went after it blows over.

As my geography skills are horrible, the map explanation is much appreciated! :) Stay dry...the weather nerd in RI wants details when it blows over! (no pun intended!)
