Leon, Nicaragua...Great Success!

So the first city on our whirlwind tour of Nica was better than we had imagined. The people of Leon were strong supporters of the Sandista movement, and there were relics of their long history everywhere we turned. Leon is a beautiful colonial city. Population: 117,000

Here are some pics from our trip so far....















Crossing the border from Honduras into Nicaragua. To get across, the bus dropped the 4 of us off and from there some guys pedaled us across on little bikes, kinda like a gringo parade on rickshaws. Strange, but kind of fun. Too bad they ripped us off afterwards.

Architecture maintains a colonial european look.

Day 2: We took a trip to the pacific ocean. This was the warning on the beach.















And Simon and Delfo ignoring that warning.

We are now in Granada, longtime rival of Leon and another completely beautiful colonial city. We will post some new pics as we get them!
